The Pioneer TS-W127M 12"", 1300W max power automotive subwoofer features Pioneer?s VCCS (Voice Coil Cooling System) design to reduce the operating temperature of the subwoofer by as much as 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat produced in the voice coil of a typical subwoofer can rise to more than 500 degrees Fahrenheit, which not only changes the electrical and mechanical design of the speaker but also can cause speaker failure. In the TS-W127M subwoofer, an aluminum bobbin draws heat away from the voice coil and toward the front and center of the subwoofer, where it is cooled by the moving air. Aluminum was chosen for the bobbin and center cap because of its thermal conductivity. Decreasing the voice coil temperature allows the mechanical characteristics to remain consistent, resulting in a very tight and accurate bass, improved frequency response and increased sound pressure level (SPL) at any volume. The 12? Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) woofer cone combined with a wide roll urethane surround delivers deep, rich bass with low distortion, even at high output.
