Rosemary, or Rosmarinus, is an evergreen perennial shrub with narrow, fragrant, corner-like leaves and small blue-violet flowers. The aroma of the plant is similar to a combination of camphor and pine scent. Rosemary buds and leaves are used to extract oil, which has antiseptic and wound-healing effects. So, it is not only the decoration for the interior, but also some kind of “helpmate” in the house. The plant prefers bright sun to partial shade. It thrives in well-lit areas with direct sunlight for a significant portion of the day. Water the plant with approximately 1 glass of room temperature water when the top few inches of soil seem to be on drier side to the touch (about two-three times a week in summer, and the rest of the year it should be a bit less). Don’t let the plant sit in soggy soil. Rosemary is shipped in 4” pot. The plant prefers high level of air humidity. Rosemary must be watered systematically, and moistened with a sprayer. It doesn’t stand drafts, which have negative effect on the plant. Feed the plant in spring with fertilizers with mineral and organic fertilizers. The height of the plant shipped varies from 10” to 12” which is measured from the bottom of the pot to the very top of the plant. The width of the plant is between 6” to 8”. The repotting of the plant is made once in a year in the early spring, since the soil can lose all its useful properties during this time.
